My Why & How Behind My Events

Why I Do, What I do…

I am super passionate. Like I really want to make a big difference and empower others. I want to bring smiles to the people I talk to and the people I am around. I want to spend time loving myself so I can encourage others to do the same, I want people to see their own beauty with the wonder and belief I do, like real raw beauty, not the surface I work with. I want to be a present mum because the time I spend with my children is precious, limited and a gift filled with lessons, wonder and joy. I want to dream big and believe in the possibilities so I can inspire others to do the same. I want to live in abundance so I can give in abundance. I want to see people happy, having fun and enjoying their lives.

My Events

On the 9th March I’m hosting my first Pamper & Shop Indulgence event of this year and I wanted to create a post which not only shares part of my bigger why and reasoning behind some of my crazy plans but also explain to you why the events matter to me.

On the surface these are evenings where i bring groups of friends together for a fun and indulgent evening of shopping and pampering with some local businesses, traders and therapists.

Events. Be You Beautiful. Beauty. Indulgence. Style. Transformation. Events. Evenings. Workshops

How I Work.

I do more than that I support the amazing traders I get to work alongside at my events with a Facebook group just for them, a Traders Pack full of info to support their business, working to make the nights a long term success and with ongoing support and belief on my part. I vet those traders to make sure they see it’s more than a shop and drop and we are creating an atmosphere to be remembered and a night to be enjoyed by all attending.

For those attending I try to think of how I would want to spend an evening or any free time I might have away from family, work and the adventure of day to day life. I think of a place I could socialise with my friends and enjoy their company. I think of all the treatments I might book, or things I may enjoy shopping and then I try and find them and bring them all together. Along with a bar and social tables to be enjoyed, filled with drinks, chatter and laughter in between the strains of shopping and treatments. With the support of local business sponsors I create the most wonderfully filled goody bags with delightful gifts limited in number to make you rush for the experience.

You see it truly matters to me people have a good night. It matters to me the traders I believe in do well and meet fabulous people who rave about them. It matters to me that when I put my name to something I give people the best I can. I wanted people to know all this to know whether they are working alongside or coming along for the evening I am genuinely so grateful they are part of the experience, I’m really excited not only for the quarterly events but the other ways I’m planning to give back, love support and empower going forward with BeYou Beautiful through 2018 and beyond.

I’ve spent today working on different bits for the event, at times I’ve felt like I was running full steam into a brick wall. I wanted to put this post out there so people got why I spend so much time on it, why I talk about it, why I stress about it, why I believe in it. Everything about these nights is ways of me fulfilling my desires to support or light people up, to connect with people and bring people joy.

Hopefully if you are reading this and not to far away you will come along for a fabulous night here are all the details you need.

10 Benefits to Choosing Natural Gel Nails

Before we get to the benefits of gel nails, here is some background information.

Gel nails have been in the nail industry for many years now in different forms, there are many brands and they can come in different forms from pots to polishes and like any other products the packaging, the quality and the prices vary massively.

I trained with OPI in Gel Polishes over 3 years ago, simply because OPI is a brand I have used since my mum let me steal hers when I was a kid, they have always delivered results, been industry leaders and they are recognised as a prestigious brand. Since doing my gel nail training I haven’t looked back, whilst I occasionally do a natural manicure this is by far my most popular treatment.

So today I thought I would take ten minutes with a cuppa to run through the benefits of gel nails…

Mobile beauty therapist kent, gel nail services kent, mobile nail technician, OPI gel nails, wedding nails, nails Gravesend, Be You Beautiful, Nail gallery, my work, nail portfolio,

10 Benefits of Gel Nails.

1. Gel Nails are applied to natural nail.

No drills, no tip, whilst cured under a lamp there is no ‘false’ part of the nail. It also feels more natural and is less rigid on the nail.

2. Gel Nails don’t damage your natural nail.

When removed properly by soaking or in professional wraps there is no risk of damage to the natural nail.

3. They are Super Shiny!

Like seriously! So shiny, it doesn’t dull and maintains a high end looking manicure that lasts.Mobile beauty therapist kent, gel nail services kent, mobile nail technician, OPI gel nails, wedding nails, nails Gravesend, Be You Beautiful, Nail gallery, my work, nail portfolio,

4. Gel Nails last 2-3 weeks.

Depending how you care for them and the daily work you carry out, gel nails can last up to 21 days!

5. They only take 25-45 minutes.

Like done, dry and out the door, you can even book it into a lunch break (if you have a fab mobile therapist like me!)

6. It protects your natural nails.

Perfect to protect from day to day damage, splitting and breakage.

7. It helps your natural nails grow.

Because it’s prevent day to day damage its stops them breaking and getting shorter meaning over time with repeat treatment and maintenance they grow.

8. No stress of trying to paint your own nails.

You know like the stress of smudging or the painting of the ‘other’ hand – yeah none of that!

Benefits of gel nails, Mobile beauty therapist kent, gel nail services kent, mobile nail technician, OPI gel nails, wedding nails, nails Gravesend, Be You Beautiful, Nail gallery, my work, nail portfolio,

9. You feel confident.

A gel manicure makes your hands look nice, you feel confident, others compliment and you smile lots.

10. It’s affordable.

When maintained and look after they last, you save on time, on nail polishes and all the extras and again if you have a nice therapist like me you can even block book to save you more money!

There you have it 10 Benefits to Gel Nails. Would you add anymore?

10 Things I Love About Organising Pamper Events

I’m EXCITED! The Next Event is 10th November.

If you haven’t seen the swishy, sparkly video I created all by myself check it out on the events page here. I’m back to planning pamper events and indulgence nights and I love it, I’ve got the buzz back, it’s awesome. This time round I’m trying to do as much as humanly possible to support the event, the traders and make it stand out as a fabulous evening for all the lovely ladies attending. We have goody bags, fashion shows, demonstrations and over 40 therapists & traders to shop and get pampered from, I love all that goes into it.

Pamper Events, Inn on the lake, hotel, Indulgence event, poster, kent events, Gravesend, North kent, pamper event, pamper beauty, shop, shopping local, traders and therapists, be you beautiful

Speaking of what I love about the events, that’s why I got started writing today. Here are

10 things I love about organising the Be You Beautiful Pamper Events & Indulgence Nights.

  1. The fear I have to push through to break my comfort zone and get started. Oh my god if you knew how many events I’d actually ‘planned’ this year, you’d laugh. I was just to scared to launch. So those first few phone calls where I push through the barrier I love that. It proves how much I want it’s makes me feels stronger, it gets me more pumped for the event.
  2. Connecting back up with businesses I love! I have actually been organising events just like this for almost 8 years. What I really love about this is some of the traders like Toxic Angel Jewellery, For Girlys Boutique and a few more have all been working with me since the start, they get me, they know my events and it’s an added bonus that I love to shop both of the ones mentioned as soon as they start laying out their tables!
  3. Meeting new businesses and the people behind them. Whilst it’s lovely to have the ongoing support with those I know, it’s really great to here someone’s passion when describing their business to me for the first time. It’s fab to meet the people behind the websites, social media and emails. I have always loved meeting new people so this is a really great part of the job, plus people get me and my energy more face to face. I think!
  4. Supporting Charities in the process. We have a charity raffle on the evening because all the businesses involved donate a prize. We have my nan and aunt sorting the tickets (they are legends and I do believe the sole reason that some people attend the events!). We choose a different charity each time and try and do our best whilst raising money, to spread as much of their message as we can. I have some extra ways people will be helping charity at the next event. I thought outside the box and I’m quite excited to announce it along with our chosen charities in two weeks time.
  5. Supporting and Shopping Local. I know how much effort it takes to start a business, I know how much effort it requires to keep going, it’s a lot and at times I thought about giving up. So I try and shop local whenever I can. Even to the point I buy cards from my mum, I refuse to have them for free (she undervalues herself far too much already) and I’d rather I have something beautiful, unique and made by her than store brought. (It’s a great idea anyway, now if I could get into the habit of actually delivering people’s cards would be even better!)
  6. The Response & Reaction when I launch the event, it’s really heart warming and it makes me feel more confident in what I’m doing when people tell me they are pleased or excited the events are back, it’s even more awesome…
  7. Saying Hello and Welcoming  Guests on the evening. It’s lovely seeing familiar faces, it’s nice that it’s a night of luxury and indulgences so everyone’s chatty and haply. The room is always full of natter and laughter, it’s a real buzz and it flies by super quick
  8. The fluster I get in. It is ironic considering how much I bloody prepare. It just reminds me to go with the flow a little bit I can’t control everything. One year I ran round apologising to traders that it had started snowing because you know I ordered the weather!
  9. The personal feeling of accomplishment once I have pulled it off. I know I have lots of support in the people around me, I know I have lots of businesses working with me and shouting about the event, I know I didn’t do this JUST ME. But it started just me and at some point in the evening I normally have a little pause to take stock of what happens when I keep pushing through the little barriers. I’m proud of myself.
  10. Everyone else’s feedback and reactions. I like providing a night that others really enjoy, I like that women take time out, I like that it’s a night for groups of friends to catch up, I like that the businesses do well and meet new clients as well as catch up with old ones.

There is so much that’s great about these evenings. It’s a pretty awesome feeling getting so many people together. This is the first one since the two small children, so understandably I’m still nervous and scared I’ll forget or mess something up but I don’t think it will be to catastrophic, I plan to much for that!

If you live in the North Kent area and would like a great night out with your friends come along, check our latest events and be sure to share.

#SaveYourSelfie Fake Bake Friday

Fake Bake Friday

Tonight I have a beautiful bunch of ladies booked in for a Fake Bake Party at Home. I love these parties firstly they are always fun because it’s a bunch of friends having a night in together, secondly I get to do what I love and finally I know the confidence a tan can bring to any woman wearing one! Natural or fake!

I really enjoy my job and I love that I can work with brand who’s ethos, support and messages of safety and empowerment continue to shine through. Fake Bake was the first brand I chose when I trained in spray tanning back in 2007 and whilst I have trained with other brands since, in my experience my clients are happier with the menu and services I am able to offer using the Fake Bake Brand.

#SaveYourSelfie

Their current empowering charity campaign for the summer is to get women truly embracing some self love and confidence and I couldn’t be happier. They are asking everyone to get involved #SaveYourSelfie and share it online and get others involved too! There are even Fake Bake Prizes up for Grabs!

Be You Beautiful, Fake Bake, Beauty Blog, Beauty Kent, beauty London, save your selfie, fake bake spray tan

Through the campaign and their ongoing work Fake Bake will be supporting the charities RAFT and Coppafeel, you can read lots more about the charities, support and fake bakes ongoing campaign of confidence in their latest summer magazine by clicking the image below.

Now My Turn

#saveyourselfie, my selfie, be you beautiful, beauty blogger, beauty kent, beauty London, fake bake

Fake Bake put it to us therapists to dig a little deeper and share our stories.

Most see those within the beauty industry beautified, beaming and full of confidence, ready and able to take on the world. The reality my tan, nails and make up are often the boosts I need to be able to step out into the world.

I Lost All My Confidence At School

I went to an all girls school where my best friends created lists of size/beauty/hair/popularity/possessions and ranked us…I don’t think I ever came in top 3. They also gave me nicknames I’d laugh at despite not understanding and then they would wait a few months to humiliate me by explaining exactly how they were taking the piss. I was a Tom boy only child who at the point didn’t know/care how to make myself beautiful or to care for myself properly. I did myself no favours and as a result spent 5 years with these friends, constantly longing to be accepted and included.

The summer I broke up from year 11 I got diagnosed with depression and their constant out casting and jibes and taken a massive toll on my self confidence. I spent a summer with a different group of friends (much to my mums horror she knew none of them) and I learnt to ROYALLY NOT GIVE A FUCK! I found out that actually once school finished any link with these losers was null and void and that their petty attitudes wouldn’t actually take them far in the real world. I also learnt to look after myself, I presented myself better, I became more like a girl than a tomboy, emo, or whatever other stage I went through.

I did get my own back a little I remember bumping in to one of the most popular girls at a club a couple of years later (funny thing is I had loads of real mates having a total laugh and she looked a misery by the toilets) as I went to the loos she stopped me and said “why did you stop talking to us?” to which I replied (rather smugly) “oh I am surprised your head is out your arse to notice, but to be honest we all know you all hated me so why fake it any longer” and walked off! I will say it’s important to find a point where you let go of anger from others opinions, I let them define me for so long, I tried to be so many different things just to be accepted and none of it worked because I’d lost me!

I Started Working In The Hair & Beauty Industry

HAHA the irony that this little grot bag tomboy got a job as a Saturday junior in a hair salon, a job that taught me so much about how I present myself, the real world, working relationships and my love for people! I then went on to get a part time job in House of Fraser and within 18 months was managing and merchandising two small matts French Connection and Miss Sixty, I was also the first to get recognition and training direct from the brands and a uniform supplied by them for me and the team I worked with. I learnt in this role I could be powerful, if I was confident in my applying my learning and knowledge and applying my people skills!

I then took this confidence and applied for a job in the beauty industry, an industry where experience was always required but rarely given and an industry of very made up and beautiful people. I don’t know how I done it but I got a job with Estée Lauder, I worked my arse off to prove I could learn and do exactly as they wanted, I showed them ways I’d apply what I’d learnt so far in retail and branding to their principals and beliefs. I got the job!

It was hard, scary, I was petrified of making people over to begin with, I got lost in the routines, right words and link sales. But I persisted, I learnt so much and I excelled. I worked with a team of great girls with years of experience between them and I’m so lucky they were the first team I got to work with they nurtured me, built up my confidence and taught me tonnes on self love and BEAUTY!!

I then went on to work for Christian Dior, my manager was an awesome women, who has the best name, who is still my friend today. Steph (to save confusion I call her big weff) made me learn so much, supported me in becoming confident with make up, made me value myself more and was just a hugely supportive bundle of fun , she made me laugh all the time and made up a lot of what I had lost. I don’t think she even realises this now (shit I’m crying… She will laugh at that!).

My Point

This is a long time ago and lots of things have happened since, many of which I could of included to show how believing in myself, having support and mustering up confidence can make dramatic differences to your life. But this is where it all started for me that realisation different chapters in our life hold different stories, people, challenges and adventures and I get the pleasure of chosing how I write mine.

You see after a chapter of my life in which my self confidence was battered, bruised and I was questioning everything about myself. I went on to a chapter of finding myself, confidence and the chance to surround myself with women who could teach me just that! I feel very lucky for that opportunity and I feel passionate about continuing that through my work now. Whether talking one to one with a client, making everyone feel comfortable at a pamper party, telling a woman about my surf board body and non existence boobs to make them feel ok stripping off for a tan, I do groups in schools working with teen girls, I am about to launch a series of workshops for mums and women in business, and I blog about life and works through my blogs, whilst having an awesome adventure along the way.

Self Confidence

Self confidence really is continuously learnt we live in a world where many outlets are trying to take that confidence away, when I first shared my selfie over on Instagram this is what I wrote about my go to for self confidence now.
“For me my confidence boost is colour! Whether that’s a bright top, a tan, nails, lipstick or bronzer, I need colour just to give me the boost make me look alive (3 kids ya know!!) and give my confidence its daily Boost.”

Get involved

I would love for you to get involved, share what makes you confident and a gorgeous selfie. As well as doing the #SaveYourSelfie please also include #BeYouBeautiful if you took part because of me. Not because I am vain or getting any reward, but because I want to smile knowing you read this and are empowering others because of it too!

Have a fab day beautiful!

Getting Help

I said briefly about being diagnosed with depression this has been reoccurring and something I can discuss and asses quite openly. However it’s not that easy for everyone and I wouldn’t have come as far as I have without the fantastic support and help of Mind, if you need hep and support I really do recommend reaching out to them.

Toes Out Tuesday, Sparkles Continued.

Late last night I shared my Lecente Monday Manicure, I fell I love with the sparkles all over again! And it didn’t stop at my fingers. Here is my Toes Out Tuesday Post sharing my OPI Gelcolor & Lecente Toes!

Toes This Week.

It’s summer, flip flop season and time to get the toes out! As its a big part of my job I like to make my nails a feature, something for people to notice or con net on. This week the toes on my feet are two different colours. Partly because I wanted to see the different results achievable with one glitter and partly because it gets people talking.

The Polishes were OPI GelColor Neon Collection. The pink on right foot is ‘Hotter Than You Pink‘ And the orange on my left is ‘Juice Bar Hopping‘ With Lecente glitter in applied in two layers on top of each colour.

It’s never fun gelling your toes bent up like you are doing some high level yoga pose but none the less apart from a run on the left big toe… I LOVE THEM! This is the end result.

Gel, OPI, toes out Tuesday, Lecente, ted baker, flip flops, summer toes, be you beautiful

The Shoes. Ted Baker.

These were part of my big holiday surprise for my trip to Ibiza in June for my 30th birthday! My man can shop and he knows I love Ted Baker but if you have a pair or buy a pair be warned, I’ve screwed the bow back on twice (only by luck hearing the screw fall out) and had to push the top back through the sole after nearly breaking my neck as it bent and came apart beneath me. I love them …but I looked like a dick! Thanks Ted!!

Sparkling Up Your Monday. Lecente Monday Manicure

Bit late in the day I know, whilst my Monday has been blessed with a manicure it wasn’t so blessed with motivation! it took time but my Lecente Monday Manicure is here!

Putting It Into Practise!

Im wasted! Haha sound like a right big headed numpty, but I don’t mean it like that. I have been working in beauty over a decade, I have trained with some of Estée Lauder & Christian Diors top world make up artists, I am trained in beauty with a qualification recognised over the world, and have trained with brands like Fake Bake & OPI to constantly better myself.

When it comes to nails. I have trained with one of the best in the industry one of the innovators, and one of the creators behind the brand Lecente. I first trained with Maria 11 years ago in acrylic nails, nail art, manicures…l even bummed a lift off her too and from classes! I have constantly been inspired by Maria and her family behind the brand Lecente, their passion and creative qualities shine through, they have the best sense of humour are always so welcoming, make an amazing cup of tea and create the best nail glitters in the world!

I was really happly to get to train with Maria again this year at Lecente HQ and get to know all there is to know about these glitters and how to work with them!

Beauty, nails, training, Lecente training, qualified, Monday manicure

All About Lecente Glitters

These glitters are not your standard glitters, in the words of my other half “They are mesmerising with depth” (he seriously said that about my nails! But more than that they are..

•Precision Cut. Making them easy workable for the therapist and smoother nails, edges and results for the client.

•95% hypoallergenic and purge product meaning no nasties stuck in.  This is something really important to some of my clients, an extra reassurance.

•They are available in a beautiful sparkly rainbow of colours like 80-100 of them, they even have the most amazing neon collection.

•They even do shapes, squares, diamonds and strands.

That’s not all, they also do foils and superb brushes I love using!

Search #LoveLecente on any social media channels and you will see a screen full of amazingness and sparkle!

Lecente, glitters, glitter nails, noted, Monday manicure, training, be you beautiful

Lecente Monday Manicure

So I have dabbled up until now, but this week I spent just over two hours creating these beauty on my own  nails for this weeks Monday Manicure.

Love Lecente, Monday manicure, OPI gel color, OPI gels, sparkle, notd, nail art

They are by no means perfect, a bit messy round the cuticles, lines could have been neater and glitter pressed better and layered more in certain areas. But it’s made my passion sparkle as much as my nails and I’m itching to play again! I had fun being creative. I have booked in friends for this week just to practise and already sparkled my toes! I Also have now wrote a wish list of glitters and foils I can’t wait to order! I’ll keep you all posted on my latest Lecente creations!

Have you had your nails sparkled by a Lecente therapist? I’d love to see them, tag below.

Monday Motivation & Manicure!

Rolling it all into one today. Quotes and shiny nails all in one post!

I’m back with Monday motivation & manicure to share with you! I have returned from maternity leave and working my little socks off! I’ve been blogging all about the chaos that is my life over at Mum and Monsters. But here it is all about pretty stuff, beauty and things that make us feel good!

Because im all about making you feel beautiful and the whole point in Monday motivation is to make you feel motivated and happy I thought this quote from Christian Dior was perfect!

Monday motivation & manicure, Monday motivation, be you beUtiful, happiness, beUty, quotes, Christian Dior, manicure Monday, Monday motivation and manicure,

And now for the nails …

These are a base of OPI Gelcolor in Pink Flamenco with an overlay of white minx ‘tribal’. I loved these and the reaction they got from customers & strangers alike was pretty awesome.

As both the polish and wraps are professional products, they lasted with high shine and good results. The gels were on for two weeks (may have lasted longer but I was getting colour bored) whilst I removed the minx after 8 days because it had started to lift slightly at tip.

The week ahead

With the eldest on summer hols and the other two munchkins needing entertaining is a mix of fun days out and fitting in work work work work work! I’m off from my day job at the college until September which gives me plenty of time to find my feet with Be You Beautiful and give the kids as much fun, love and adventures as possible!

I have a girly pamper this week and lots of gel nails booked in but I have been really good since I have been back in block booking my days so it’s not so sporadic and I’m not so wired and stressed out!

Shared motivation  or a mani today? If so I’d love to see, share your link below.

Why I Choose Neals Yard Remedies at Be You Beautiful

Yesterday I put in my personal skincare order! I ran out of all my favs over the last month!

As I’ve been with Neals yard a whole year now I figured I would share with you what made me choose them in the first place.

Why I choose Neals yard remedies, nyr, Neals yard, frankincense, skincare, be you beautiful, cleanse and tone, moisturise, beauty therapistWhilst I test many products through my job and through my blog, many of which I love (some I don’t) I have some products I use religiously. For example I love how I feel when I cleanse and tone with the frankincense range in the morning I feel refreshed and not like I have stayed up ridiculously late the night beforehand.

It was this initial love for just two products that made me talk to my friend Sophie over at Indulgence Holistic Treatments about using the products within my business Be You Beautiful just because I wanted to share these products with my clients in treatments. I signed up, no pushiness or pressure from soph, no need to make it my sole focus, no targets, I chose Neals Yard and here’s why….

💜I loved them … The feel, the smell, the texture, the packaging I could go on, I think a passion and belief in any product shines through.
💜They are organic. Whilst not important to all my clients, over the last ten years within the industry I’ve noticed people becoming more conscious of what they apply to their skin . They are also really ethical and open about their ingredients, where the are from etc.  That is an added bonus to me.
💜I wanted to offer a complete range of skincare that I felt I could break down, learn and use to address all clients needs.  Sensitive, dry, normal, oily, young, old, dull, whatever the clients issue was I wanted something on hand to offer a solution.
💜It gave me the opportunity to keep in touch with beauty treatments, products and updates through online training and in store training something that personally I love and is super important to me.
💜They are AWARD WINNING …..over and over again!
💜They Pay It Forward. To animals, to people, to our planet, and I find that pretty awesome.

You can find out loads more on the website (they set up and provide for me) here

I’m really not selling you anything just explaining my choice for the skincare ranges I use in treatments. You can get a free skincare consultation with me anytime, online or in person. I’m really not a pushy sales person (infact sales is my weakness) if you want more info, to find out more or try a product, buy something, book a facial, book a girls night in (with range of treatments) …. then I’m here. It’s what I do, it’s what I love and I’m more than happy to help and make a difference. For my clients, my team and my beautified self! (When I get 5 minutes to pamper myself in between work and the kids that is!)

Anyway, whilst I wait for my latest order to arrive join in the chat in the comments below or over on the Facebook page!

Thank You 2015 it’s been emotional, amazing and fast!

WOW what a year! I know it’s flown by but I didn’t actually realise the full extent to all the awesomeness I have achieved in this year. Instead like many I was focussing on the shitty bits that seem to resurface year after year, the small challenges sent to guide us. It was only when I sat down with my Leonie Dawson 2016 planner and had to look at this past year I actually pushed myself to think of all the things big and small!

Thank You 2015, Leonie Dawson planners, business, working mum, preparing for 2016, feeling fabulous, be you beautiful

So what have I actually done?

As well as trying my best to work through very shite hypremisis gravadium, my biggest achievement wasn’t in business but in my personal life completing our little family with the arrival of our third beautiful baby and this time it was a pink one! I don’t talk about them much on here instead I gush about them on my other blog, but couldn’t let the moment slip by of achievements without including these 3….

My beautiful children, my biggest achievement, blessed, beautiful, natural shot, be you beautiful, mum and monsters

Stepping Outside Your Comfort Zone, Monday Motivation..

I have another little blog, I don’t really tell people about.  It’s about me as a Mum and just dealing with life in general and it makes me feel exposed and maybe a bit too open when people I know read it. Which is exactly what happened this weekend when my Mum wanted me to share a post and I didnt think through the way Facebook now shares every move you bloody make even with private settings!

It’s not that I’m embarrassed, more anxious and nervous of being judged, I wanted to be able to divide my work and my day to day, but to have the chance to write about both. Anyway it’s out there now and so I just have to grin and bear it and hope hey all forget about it soon. Having said that by stepping out my comfort zone by accident, I realised how much it can take you towards your goals, how much it can make you grow and that actually it isn’t too scary.

So it took me towards my goal by making my Mum and Monsters blog reach its highest number in a day so far EVER it was pretty awesome watching the numbers go up and in the end 280 had read that blog post and visited my website in one day! That’s pretty cool for little old me. It made me grow a pair, in that I shouldn’t be so bloody scared and also maybe helped me squash my anxiety just a little bit more. And it isn’t too scary because infact once it was out there, I had lots of loving words, support and kindness coming from family, friends and people I work with. So all that has inspired my Monday Motivtion for you today, what could you do this week that will help you grow by taking a step outside your comfort zone?

Stepping outside your comfort zone, motivation, inspiration, quotes, Monday motivation, mum, beauty, working, taking chances, feel the fear and do it anyway

Purple & Pink Monday Manicure using OPI Polishes

A pretty Monday Manicure using OPI to share as I finally got to paint my nails over the weekend! Although with three kids I have to do this in stages, like one hand at a time (if I manage to get that many fingers painted in one go!). I have to keep one hand paint free whilst the other dries in case I need to change nappies, get milk or stop my middle monster from escaping or jumping off something!

I used all OPI Polishes, I have a clear gel on my nails as a base at the moment anyway just to keep their strength and prevent breaks. The colour application began with the deep purple “I vant to bite your neck” part of the Eur Centrale Collection.  Then using my latest OPI polish I treated myself too last week “On Pinks & Needles” A bargain at £3.99 in TKMaxx which is from the Brights Collection. I know I said no more OPI polishes as I have over 100 …but I didn’t have one like this!

I then finished and sealed in with two coats of top coat. I used two coats as the hexagonal shapes in the pink detail can pertrude slightly from the nail plate so rather than risk catching and chipping I sealed in with an extra layer of OPIs super glossy and quick drying top coat.
Here is the finished result….
